I’m Alive and Mad as Hell

So sorry for the long pause here. Things have been super-busy and equally stressful as we wonder if our program will be cut and we will be sent packing. In my neighborhood, USAid has closed down and many people in Côte d’Ivoire and greater Africa will suffer from preventable diseases as the medicine sits here unable to be distributed. However, the distance from the US does give me some sense of peace. I am sure many Americans feel even worse than I do as they wake up everyday in a country that does not acknowledge them or care about their human rights. I hope this experiment is worth it to the many who voted for the orange troll and his band of wealthy misfits. “Yako” from Cote d’Ivoire.*

Also, reminder that I am a cockroach and cannot be crushed, so there will be more stories coming soon. I refuse to let the Doom Squad kill my sense of humor or purpose.

*Yako is an important word in Côte d’Ivoire that has no equivalent in English. It is a deeply-felt way of saying, “I’m so sorry”.
